On-site Counsellor - Contact Centre

About the role

The Counsellor will work as part of the HR team and will provide support and guidance to employees within our contact centre. The On-site Counsellor will be the first point of contact for brief intervention counselling and providing an acute triage function directing employees to other support services. This role will help employees build coping mechanisms for stressful situations they may encounter on the job. The Counsellor will be responsible for developing strategies in conjunction with HR which will improve health and mental well-being within the workforce.

What you'll do
  • Develop and implement coping mechanisms for employees related to stressful events they encounter on the job
  • Referring employees to professional support services as required
  • Maintaining accurate case documentation
  • Supporting employees and management in addressing employee issues and requests for support
  • Producing and maintaining appropriate policies and mental health strategies
  • Educating employees on the tools and resources available to them, tracking and measuring the impact of these
  • Working within the HR team as required to actively manage return to work requirements
What you'll bring
  • Sound knowledge of mental health and well-being within the workplace
  • High level communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement in resolving problems
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and work constructively to accomplish goals
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work without constant direction, show a bias for action and achieve results
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible, as well as continuously improve work processes
  • Minimum of 3 years ‘experience as a counsellor and relevant counselling certification
  • Australian citizenship and ability to pass a police clearance are essential
