Perfect for a student who has recently completed or is nearing completion of their degree, an exciting casual/part-time (dependant on the successful candidate) opportunity has become available in the AMA Projects' Canberra office for an Estimating Coordinator to join our expanding team. You will report to the Senior Estimator who will help you every step along the way and occasionally assist our Estimators located in the Sydney and Melbourne offices.
There is an opportunity for this role to grow into a full-time position over time.
Roles & Responsibilities
Assist the Senior Estimator in the preparation of tenders for a diverse range of projects and clients, ranging up to $20 million in value.
Assist in the administration of tender documentation.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders.
Evaluate and compare suppliers and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate pricing throughout the tender period.
Liaise with subcontractors to ensure they have an in-depth understanding of the building program and scope of works.
Supporting project delivery teams with record keeping, preparing documents, liaising with suppliers/sub-contractors.
Reading and understanding building plans.
To be considered for this role, you will need to display the following:
A genuine passion for the building and construction industry.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A high level of organisational and time management skills.
A strong work ethic and the ability to work well autonomously by yourself or within a team.
An eye for detail.
Studying or recently completed a relevant degree or trade certificate (e.g. Construction Management, Building etc).
A White Card, Asbestos Awareness and First Aid certificate are advantageous.
An understanding of Adobe InDesign.
Some previous exposure to the industry.
