Procurement Manager

Seaway is looking for an experienced and established Procurement Manager  to be responsible for the development and ongoing management of our Carrier and Supplier relationships. Joining our Leadership Team, you will have a strong sense of initiative, sound decision making skills and an outstanding ability to communicate well at all levels both internally and externally.

 

The Role

This is a role that will suit a highly proactive and assertive individual with a strong network in the Seafreight industry. We are seeking someone who can utilise their experience and knowledge to focus on maturing our procurement processes as well as managing all aspects of our Carrier and Supplier relationships.

 

Basic Responsibilities of this Role will Include:

  • Own overall responsibility for the operational and financial success of Export Seafreight Procurement
  • Develop and maintain Carrier and Supplier relationships
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and audits
  • Develop systems to ensure customer needs are always met
  • Allocation and space management
  • Database management

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a procurement management position within the Supply Chain Industry
  • Skilled in building and fostering long term, strategic internal and external relationships
  • Highly skilled contract negotiator
  • Strong analytical ability with high business acumen
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of CargoWise will be advantageous but not essential

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in International Trade or Supply Chain subjects are preferred but not essential.
