Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line running from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD. It will deliver four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street and upgrades to Dutton Park and Exhibition stations.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also responsible delivery of the the European Train Control System (ETCS) technology into both greenfield and brownfield rail network. The ETCS project delivery is a critical stage in the continuous objective of strengthening the safety, reliability and efficiency of the South East Queensland rail network. The ETCS Project Director will lead the delivery of the European Train Control System (ETCS) works package to operations stage, leading program-level design, procurement and delivery on behalf of the Delivery Authority and ensuring effective future integration.
Specific responsibilities include:
Lead the team responsible for the implementation of ETCS for the Delivery Authority, providing the CEO, executive team and key stakeholders with timely, accurate and authoritative advice on any significant risks and issues to support decision making.
Work with the Program Director as a member of their senior management team to manage the project delivery, technical services and safety management across delivery phases, allowing the Delivery Authority to successfully deliver to the agreed time, budget and specifications.
Oversee the delivery of ETCS and related solutions, ensuring that the Delivery Authority meets project milestones associated with this works package and delivers on time and budget to the agreed scope and specifications.
Oversee planning, scheduling and prioritisation of ETCS project works integrating project activities across constituent projects and ensuring technical and logistical integration with other Cross River Rail programs.
Represent the Delivery Authority as both the work package owner and key subject matter expert, working collaboratively with Queensland Rail, Department of Transport and Main Roads and other major stakeholders including the ETCS supplier to ensure proposed solutions integrate effectively with network, operational systems and rollingstock, while ensuring the Delivery Authority's interests are considered at all points of the project.
Ensure that all safety and assurance obligations with all applicable rail and infrastructure statutory requirements are met in the delivery of project works including those outlined by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator
As the successful candidate you will have demonstrated experience leading
Demonstrated senior management-level experience managing the delivery of complex projects, with a track record of successfully balancing time, cost and quality outcomes with a wide range of project stakeholder interests.
Demonstrated expert level of expertise in the delivery and implementation of complex projects, as evidenced by direct professional experience in the delivery and credentials.
Demonstrated understanding of the commercial arrangements supporting delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, as evidenced by direct professional responsibility for management of these issues in the delivery of relevant projects.
Demonstrated experience interfacing with ETCS technology, other complex signaling systems in a project delivery phase in a rail setting.
