Seeking Instrumentation experience, Located at Bowen Hills, Rotating day/night roster with a 4 day week.

Our Travel Train Maintenance division are seeking electrical trade professionals to help ensure we provide a safe reliable service to our long distance travel customers.
As an electrical Travel Train Maintainer II you are responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs, modifications and fault finding inspections on traditional/long distance travel trains including brake testing and maintenance of the CCTV security system as well as repairs to the safety critical electronic control systems on the trains. Also fault detection repairs and carry out electronic, computer and Programmed Logic Controller (PLC) related repairs.
To be successful for this opportunity you must hold:
- Electrical Mechanic Licence / Electrical Fitter and Mechanical Licence
- CPR and LVR certificates
- Drivers licence
We are looking for:
- Previous electrical experience with fault finding inspections and repair on light/heavy equipment. Rollingstock experience is preferred but not essential.
- Experience reading electrical schematics
- Instrumentation experience is beneficial, a Certificate 4 in Instrumentation is highly desirable.
The team work a rotating day/night roster with a 4 day week (38 hour week, 9.5 hour days). Day shift (6:30am – 4:00pm) and afternoon shift 1:30pm – 11:00pm) rosters will vary although you can expect to work 1 in 3 weekends. In addition, overtime may be required to meet business needs.
This roster provides excellent penalty opportunities to go with the already competitive base salary. In addition to a generous superannuation scheme, Queensland Rail also offers free train travel to and from work on duty days and a healthy work/ life balance.
The base salary is $59,000 plus superannuation, shift and other allowances. If successful additional competencies will be reviewed once employed and throughout employment with the current top base rate being $73,000.
