PTM Group is a local Northern Territory company specialising in commercial, industrial and remote construction.

Our company has built a reputation over more than 30 years for delivering quality products, on time and within budget. 

PTM Group is now in the process of recruiting a qualified Work Health Safety and Environment Manager to join our expanding team.
Due to an internal restructure, PTM Group have a need to appoint a WHSE Manager, reporting to the Company Directors.

 

Role:

As the WHSE Manager you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining Federal Safety Accreditation and AS45001 Certification.
  • Update, maintain and implement the WHSE management systems across all business activities.
  • Manage the client audit process.
  • Develop project specific plans and associated documentation in conjunction with the project team for implementation on projects.
  • Management of subcontractor documentation requirements from project to project.
  • Communicate project WHSE requirements to all project workers
  • Manage subcontractor WHSE performance and project requirements.
  • Investigating incidents, accidents and responding with corrective actions.
  • Liaise with NT Worksafe and the Environmental Protection Authority as required.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits.
  • Conducting environmental monitoring, inspection and auditing programs on projects as required, and maintaining associated documentation and records.
  • Assisting in the development and analysis of hazard and risk identification processes, and the application of suitable controls
  • Assisting with reporting requirements as required
  • Mentoring and coaching personnel to drive a culture of positive WHSE practices within the business.
  • Influencing and fostering a strong WHSE Culture through strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ensuring a current understanding of all relevant WHSE legislation is maintained at all times.
  • Advise directors and project team on WHSE responsibilities as required by applicable legislation.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Cert IV in WHS
  • Ideally, 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of the principles of and implement the requirements of the Code 2016
  • Experience within Commercial Construction
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with people at all levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
