The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is a member of the University's Senior Executive and has responsibility for enhancing the University's performance and reputation in research, research training, and research collaboration with external stakeholders, nationally and internationally. This includes the strategic management of research at an institutional level; development of research policy; management of research strategic initiatives, and development of research collaborations in Australia and overseas. The Deputy Vice- Chancellor (Research) also interacts closely with Executive Deans and Institute Directors who have operational responsibility for research development within the University's Faculties and Institutes respectively, and chairs the University Research Committee, a committee of the Academic Board that promotes and supports research and research training within the University.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) is supported by the staff in the Research and Innovation portfolio. Units within the portfolio have responsibility to support the University's research community through strategic engagement with external stakeholders, funding organisations and research partners; international collaborations; grants management; research performance data management; research higher degree management; and research ethics and integrity.
About This Opportunity
As the Administration Officer/Personal Assistant you will provide high level administrative support to senior staff in the research portfolio and staff within the Office of Research Partnerships and Global Change Institute.
Within this role you will facilitate smooth administrative operation of the offices through managing diaries, arranging meetings and training sessions, managing travel arrangements, handling enquiries and collating/distributing meeting papers.
You will work with the Senior Administration Officer/Executive Assistant in coordinating large meetings and workshops, and may also assist staff in preparing presentations, promotional materials, spreadsheets and other documentation.

Our Ideal Candidate
As the ideal applicant for this role, you will have substantial experience in providing support at an executive level, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of people including senior executive staff, colleagues and stakeholders.
You will have excellent customer service skills, including strong problem solving skills, an ability to take initiative and an ability to manage multiple tasks and enquiries at once.
You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.
What We Can Offer
This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 5.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $69,408 - $77,306, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $81,207 - $90,448.
