Prospect Environmental are the trusted supplier of flood warning and environmental monitoring services to a range of clients across the local government, mining, and environmental and water related markets.
An increasing pipeline of work has created a need in our business for growth in our technical team and so an opportunity now exists for a motivated Project Engineer to lead projects from $100K to $2M.

About the role
The role of the Project Manager is to provide “hands on” technical input into a wide range of environmental monitoring projects.  This will involve design, configuration, testing and field installation of various water monitoring systems. There is a mix of individual and teamwork and blend of office, workshop, field and other activities.
Typical Projects:

  • Flood warning systems ALERT, SCADA
  • Rainfall & River Monitoring Stations
  • Remote Weather Stations
  • Water Quality Monitoring Stations
  • Groundwater Monitoring Stations
  • Open Channel & Closed pipe flow monitoring
  • Remote Solar Power, Telemetry, Mobile monitoring stations
  • Integration of Data Loggers, Communications Systems and Software
  • Environmental Data Management & Reporting

Key Activities:

  • Provide Technical and Engineering support for Prospect projects and sales.
  • Provide broad technical expertise and support for a range of third-party equipment
  • Assist with quotations, system design, project proposals, Tender Responses
  • Manage small & medium projects from inception through to completion
  • Work with sub-contractors and Prospect staff on projects as required
  • Provide written reports on project performance to clients

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Knowledge & experience of environmental monitoring products and services such as Data Loggers, Water Quality & Flow Sensors, Communications & Telemetry Systems. SCADA and Data management software systems and their applications.
  • Interest & skills in computing, networking, communications, software for internet & web applications
  • Electrical & electronic technical skills preferably gained through hands on experience
  • Ability to communicate with various customers and identify their requirements
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise project work and manage time & budgets
  • Flexible, able to take on new challenges at short notice
  • Ability to perform field work often in difficult conditions
  • Capability to work within a cooperative team environment to deliver agreed outcomes

The person will play a key role in the growth of the company.  Some remote and interstate travel as well as occasional overtime and weekend work may be required. A competitive salary package and flexible work arrangements will be negotiated commensurate to experience.
