Junior Contract Administrator - Commercial Construction

The Company: 

Our client is open in terms of qualifications and level of experience as this is a Junior position. Hence, you will ideally be a Graduate in i.e. CME or be currently working in a similar / same position of Contract Administrator but has come through an alternative route i.e. TAFE, Admin or other relevant Degree. 

If you are successful you will be expected to give 110% especially in the current market. This is an amazing opportunity to join a sophisticated and financially sound building company. They have an expectation that you will be able to comfortably perform some of the responsibilities below i.e. knowing how to read a drawing but are also realistic as this is a Junior position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Selecting, awarding, reviewing suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage RFIs to Clients, Architects and Consultants
  • Distributing drawings and information
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts
  • Manage, liaise and coordinate subcontractors
  • Maintain organised system of physical and digital records
  • Provide accurate and timely submission of progress claims and variations
  • Forecasting, budgets and reporting
  • Raising/issuing purchase orders
  • Stakeholder management
  • Closing out of contracts
  • Administration duties

Skills, Experience and Attributes:

  • CHEOPS (preferred)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications i.e. Construction Management and Economics, TAFE etc   
  • MUST be able to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong negotiation, time management and organisational skills  
  • Must be a team player who is able to listen and contribute in a professional manner
  • High level of emotional intelligence and understanding of team dynamics
  • Must be good under pressure
