COMPANY BACKGROUND

CLS OCEANIA Pty Ltd is the regional office for French based Collecte Localisation Satellites (CLS www.cls.fr/en/) providing satellite derived products and services for various applications such as monitoring, tracking and data collection. Clients consists of government, educational/universities, research institutes, regional secretariats and private companies.

 

POSITION

Full time, Melbourne inner suburbs. 

Access to public transport the office is located 2 minutes from metro train station.

Probationary period of 6 months.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a fulltime person to further enhance and develop the Fisheries market in Australia and in the South Pacific region. CLS is present in most of the Pacific Islands directly and indirectly where commercial large-scale fishing vessels utilises the CLS vessel monitoring system (VMS). 

Our direct clients are regional fisheries management organisations or regional fisheries bodies where our products are type approved for VMS. We are also AFMA type approved for commercial fishing vessels licensed to operate in Commonwealth, State and Territory waters.

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) 

  • responding to enquiries from existing and potential clients
  • sales and marketing
  • presenting and setting up at exhibition-conferences-workshops
  • liaising with local and regional resellers-distributors and certified installer
  • coordination between head office, subsidiaries and offices on joint projects
  • attend to first level support enquiries when necessary.

 

On the job training relating to CLS products and services will be provided during the probationary period at our Melbourne office and additional training if required will be at any of our regional offices in Asia or at our head office in France.

 

The position whilst predominantly in a sales role will overlap into the fringes of a technical role within a fisheries monitoring, conservation, management, control and surveillance environment and it is expected that inter-state travel will be required. Overseas and regional travel may also be required following permanent placement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / PREREQUISITE

Trade or Degree qualifications in Engineering, Business, Marine Science, GIS or related disciplines that meets or exceeds the job description. Australian citizen or permanent resident. National Police Check will be required.
