Its a great time to join this organisation as they are currently implementing a growth strategy, and one of the highlights includes a multi-$ million expansion of their manufacturing facilities in Melbournes South-East suburbs.
There is a new site, new equipment, new processes and a host of projects that will give you broad exposure to technical as well as commercial improvement projects.
Some of these will require you to bring your lean toolkit to help implement Quick tool changes; Quick colour changes; Process control; Standardised work; 5S; Waste reduction and Vision systems, to name a few.
Also, with the new site progressing to completion, the business still operates its original plant, and there are some legacy issues to help resolve until its closure. These are predominantly NCRs related to the older tooling and equipment, and youll be working closely with the Quality Manager to fix these.
Well be looking for proven continuous improvement skills combined with an engineering background, ideally from an automotive manufacturing environment such as Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, or an OEM, where lean is intrinsic to the culture and daily operations.
The future is where this opportunity gets even more interesting, mainly because of the enormous room for growth within the organisation and the flexibility this will bring.
Prospects include a path to developing a career as a functional specialist such as Continous Improvement Manager, or Technical Manager across the broader business, or at site as a Production Manager, Maintenance Manager or Manufacturing Manager. More about this at interview.
