We are currently seeking experienced D&R Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical/Electronics). The service will be responsible for providing ongoing engineering services and will require working with various functional teams to deliver on the undertaking aligned with accessory processes.
Coordinate the Design & Release and development of accessories
Create the design and development of new accessories meeting all engineering requirements and timing
Lead design and development of advanced control systems, in design or development of Body (Interior and Exterior), Chassis section, Vehicle Integration, Powertrain control etc.
Modify existing accessory designs to meet new marketing assumption requests and timing
Utilise and execute all new designs and modifications in CAD and review with Engineering Design Teams
Coordinate activities and take responsibility for part development through product launch including problem solving for engineering issues - aim is zero issues at launch
Implement design and engineering changes to optimise cost, quality and function
Lead and participate in cross functional decision-making teams as required
Participate in build events as required for accessories where the D&R Engineer is design-responsible
Consult with Engineering, Core PD, to clarify engineering constraints and requirements for new Vehicle Personalisation accessories
Work with VP planning Team and project managers to ensure all deliverables are met
Master or bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Automotive Engineering. 3+ years continuous working experience in the automotive industry
3+ years of extensive knowledge in design or development of Body (Interior and Exterior), Chassis section, Vehicle Integration, Powertrain control etc. Accessory experience preferred.
Self-starter who can learn to use new tools and find solutions - ability to troubleshoot & fix vehicle problems
Outstanding leadership and communication skills
Experience in supplier management and cost negotiation
Motivation to bring new technologies from concept to production in a short time period
Experience with complex system analysis tools & methods
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Particularly, communicate reviews and deliverables effectively to Management
Experience in a CATIA and plastic/stamping tooling related background (ideal)
Strong communication skills suited to interactions with cross-functional teams such as marketing, legal, engineering & management
Strong negotiation skills with external suppliers
Excellent computer literacy and competency with the basic Microsoft Office include Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Strong project management competencies and problem solving skills
