Your new role
  
The Learning Technologies Support Officer sits within a collegial and flexible team, where relationship and community building is key.  The team of four take direction from the Director of Learning and Teaching.
  
The key responsibility of this role is to:

  • Assist in the creating, organisation and management of digital material such as posters, and flyers on various social media platforms.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to all School of Education staff in optimising the use of learning technologies and to assist with the resolution of technical issues relating to these technologies.
  • Provide first-point-of-contact for the schools’ learning management systems in addition to learning technology queries.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to academic staff in optimising the use of digital technologies for learning.
  • Analyse, diagnose and solve issues and prevent user problems associated with technical support of learning and teaching technologies including Blackboard, Bb Collaborate and Echo360.
  • Provide a high quality, customer-focused service, adopting a proactive approach to encourage the use of technologies in ways that will enhance the teaching and learning experience, so the ability to communicate clearly with staff and students is vital to the role.

You will bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and education/training.
  • Experience in the use of Adobe Pro to create digital content with a background in social media and marketing
  • Demonstrate a practical understanding and proficiency in using online information platforms and associated on-line technologies.
  • Experience in website design, social media, blogs and other online communication tools would also be beneficial.
  • Proven ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines with excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with staff and students at all levels and in all situations is essential.
