About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership, direction and oversight for the overall supervision of Wesley Hospital Ashfield and Kogarah, maintenance and cleaning functions to ensure a safe, pleasant, functional and efficient environment for all staff, patients and visitors.


Duties of role

  • oversee all aspects of the maintenance of hospital buildings, grounds and equipment
  • schedule and complete preventative, planned, routine and unexpected maintenance and cleaning work
  • maintain up to date registers and records of all documents for compliance and reporting purposes and participate in continuous improvement and accreditation processes including WHS requirements
  • negotiate all maintenance and cleaning contracts and supervise the execution of those contracts
  • recruit, interview and induct new maintenance and cleaning staff as required, ensuring all staffare provided a positive, safe and fulfilling work environment


Essential criteria

  • trade background or equivalent
  • excellent communication skills
  • computer skills (MS Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • supervisory experience
  • current drivers licence


Desirable criteria

  • experience working in a hospital environment
  • knowledge of cleaning and laundry requirements
  • knowledge of fire safety



Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Wesley Mission Private Hospital Non-nurses Enterprise Agreement, with generous salary packaging opportunities.
