Accountant (12 month contract)

TWG Loxton is the Australian arm of the worlds second largest wine producing company.  In the heart of the Riverland, our winery offers the opportunity to work in a professional environment, while enjoying the benefits of a rural location and lifestyle.

Available for at least 12 months and reporting to the General Manager, the primary focus of this contract position is to manage the planning, co-ordination and completion of financial activities for TWG Loxton in an accurate and compliant manner to help achieve TWG Loxtons key business objectives.  Emphasis is placed on reporting financial results to key stakeholders in addition to costing and analysis to support key business activities and decision making.  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively managing and supervising financial administration support personnel;
  • Managing month- and year-end closing processes, journal entries and account reconciliations;
  • Preparing monthly stock reports;
  • Preparing monthly Key Performance Indicator reports;
  • Lodging monthly Business Activity Statement reports;
  • Developing and reviewing bulk wine product costing, and monitoring against Cost of Goods Sold;
  • Overseeing accounts payable functions and establishing credit facilities;
  • Overseeing accounts receivable functions, including assisting in preparing sales invoices for bulk wine and services and contract processing;
  • Overseeing domestic wine sales activities to ensure up to date domestic wine sale commitments;
  • Preparing and managing operating budget processes;
  • Reviewing operating costs and investigating and reporting variances and anomalies; and
  • Providing consistent and accurate advice and recommendations relating to all company financial activities.

  • Be well-organised; and
  • Be able to work autonomously and under pressure.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in finance are essential, as is experience in cost accounting.  Highly proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and accounting software are also required.
