We are located 35kms north of Wee Waa, 65kms north west of Narrabri. Our business focuses on broadacre cropping, Irrigation and livestock (Sheep and Cattle) over 5500ha. We have modern up to date farming equipment that we are continually updating that runs with GPS.
We are passionate about what we do and are always looking to improve ourselves and our business. Currently, we are looking to grow our team and would like to employ someone who is willing to learn and grow with us.
A full-time position is available. Farm duties would include:
Cropping (broadacre and irrigation) sowing, spraying, harvesting, paddock recording, repairs and maintenance of all cropping equipment.
Livestock mustering, lamb/calf marking, animal health operations, feeding
General farm maintenance and repairs
Truck driving carting grain on farm to silo, hay/silage and the occasional livestock
Working together as a team
Ongoing training and education opportunities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and energetic person who is willing to learn and challenge themselves. You will need to be able to work in a team environment and at times on your own. Most importantly you must be able to communicate honestly and openly.
You must have a positive attitude and be willing to grow and challenge yourself as the business does. You need to be self-motivated and take pride in your work.
The following skills and accreditation's would be an advantage but not necessary:
Solid cropping knowledge.
Experience operating large machinery, including tractors, spray rigs and headers.
Chemical handling accreditation or willingness to get one.
General welding, maintenance and mechanical knowledge.
MR truck licence or willingness to get one.
Be competent with GPS systems.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
42.5 hours per week, but the ability to be flexible during busy times is essential.
There will be a 6 month probationary period.
There is a two bedroom, one bathroom cottage (semi furnished) available.
A work vehicle will be included for business use.
Be enthusiastic, motivated and energetic.
Be physically fit.
Be a non-smoker.
Have a current drivers licence.
Understand that there are certain times of the year that you will be required to work weekends and public holidays (harvest, sowing etc).
