A rare opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our HR Team located in Macquarie Park, on a part time basis.

With the continuing growth of Sekisui House Australia, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries to all staff whilst ensuring compliance with Company and Statutory requirements. The Payroll Officer is also responsible for the administration of employment related payments, including but not limited to, employee superannuation, workers compensation, terminations and redundancies, payroll tax, FBT, year end processing and reconciliations, Award / Pay Rate updates.

This is stand-alone payroll position and the successful candidate must have a proven history across all facets of payroll in a stand-alone capacity.  This is not just a payroll processing role!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end processing of the payroll for 180 employees on a fortnightly basis
  • Processing of leave entitlements, file/record maintenance, new employees, exits, redundancies, variations in employment arrangements, commissions, workers compensation, payroll tax, FBT, pay rates and authorised payroll deductions in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Working with HR team to ensure maintenance of all employee files, entitlements, employment conditions and variations as well as salary conditions and variations
  • Administration, calculation, payment and reconciliation of all group and payroll taxes and workers compensation commitments
  • Responsible for generation of accurate and quality reporting as directed by the HR Manager including end of month reports, Leave Liability Reports, general payroll reports, yearly WGEA reporting, and other adhoc reporting as requested
  • Undertake/support remuneration related projects such as remuneration reviews, remuneration survey data submissions, commissions and benefits packaging
  • Award interpretation, analysis and reporting

Experience / Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL

  • Extensive experience in a standalone payroll role working as part of the broader team
  • Recent Micropay meridian experience
  • Strong understanding of tax, FBT and salary packaging
  • Experience with a HRIS or time and attendance system
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
