The Company:

The North and North West Community Legal Service is a regional based service, striving to support those in the community who have least access and least power to support themselves. Our goal is to give assistance to anyone who is having difficulty accessing, or is unsure how to access, the legal system. The primary office is based in Armidale, NSW, however our Solicitors travel considerable distances on a regular basis to provide support throughout the New England and North West. 

The Service is excited to be opening a new office in Moree, NSW, to further increase Services to the North West of the catchment.

Our small, tight-knit team work to provide our local communities with assistance in such matters as:

  • Family law issues (excluding property settlement matters)
  • Criminal matters
  • Consumer complaints
  • Credit and debt issues
  • Discrimination
  • Employment law
  • Youth issues
  • Victims Support
  • Wills, Power of Attorney, and Enduring Guardianship
  • Neighbourhood Disputes

The Role

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant (AA) to join our Moree office, four (4) days per week. The AA should demonstrate excellent communication and social skills. They are required to deliver administrative support to Solicitor's and other staff, complete data processing and other general administrative duties. They should maintain a teamwork approach at all times, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

The selection criteria for the Administrative Assistant is as follows:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with clients 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team 
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in managing a range of computer systems/programs including data entry and word processing skills 
  • High-level of organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, prioritise and manage competing priorities.
