A small chemical manufacturing facility located in Coolaroo is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Production Manager to oversee the site, and daily production schedules. The business is growing and needs the right staff that can deliver outcomes for its key stakeholders.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all production planning and expediting action, as well as adhering to customer deadlines, and will also be expected to use balanced judgement in their day today activities. The organisation uses Time & Motion studies as basis for establishing programs of work and the work outputs would be reported to management on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is largely autonomous within the Position Description and the successful applicant will be able to confidentially direct work and will have the authority to discharge their responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Plan and oversee daily production activity in terms of output quality, quantity, cost, time, labour, equipment and materials requirements.
Meet KPIs set for production output, labour, deadlines and costs.
Motivate and lead the production team to achieve high standard of performance.
Ensure that the production team is trained and developed to ensure best practice and continuous improvement.
Manage warehouse functions including maintaining accurate inventory and reporting.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment to ensure smooth work operations.
Provide all daily, weekly and monthly reporting to the Management Team.
Ensure the highest standards of health and safety awareness and behaviour across the facility.
Implement and ensure compliance to ISO 9001 quality standards, 5S principles and waste reduction systems.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a Production Managers role in a manufacturing environment ideally 5+ years.
A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering would be an advantage.
Strong influencing skills and ability to make and execute effective decisions.
Knowledge in production scheduling, KPI's and reporting.
Experience in warehouse logistics and processes.
A commitment to health & Safety.
Demonstrated ability to conduct employee training and provide instruction.
A hands-on approach, strong problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
A salary package of $70k+ Super will be offered to the successful candidate after 3-month probationary period.
