Principal, Planning

We are seeking a Principal, Planning to join our team of urbanist professionals working on the most exciting and ground-breaking projects across the eastern seaboard.

In this role, we are looking for a strong operator who can hit the ground running. Ideally, the Principal will have considerable professional experience having been exposed to a wide variety of urban development issues. The Principal will therefore have strong technical skills and experience in leading moderate to large sized projects across a range of development types and services. They will also be experienced in managing clients, service and budget and junior staff on project work.

You will thrive working within a team environment alongside our passionate urban professionals, who apply their collective intelligence to every project. Ideally this person will have practical working knowledge of the NSW planning system and have experience working on a range of projects, whilst being able to work independently and also enjoy collaborating with the wider team. You will play a key role in mentoring and managing junior staff members to help establish their career, as well as build on foundational skills that can really accelerate your own career journey. 

To be successful in the role they will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning (preferable) or related discipline along with substantial industry experience 
  • Experience within professional consulting services
  • Extensive experience with steering mid to moderate/ large developments through the approvals process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the New South Wales planning system & related issues
  • A commercial focus and service orientated approach
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
