Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is a full time role working closely with Managing Director and General Manager.

The OM leads and manages the companys production team and works, and is responsible for the successful operation of the production facility, the safe and efficient use of existing personnel resources and the development of growth strategies for the production
environment. The core element of the role is the management of day to day production operations to produce and deliver projects on time and on budget.

You will be required to demonstrate tasks to the team and lead by example. Your day to day role will require you to be heavily involved in planning production, project coordination and the overall management of a team within the workshop environment. You will stand out as a manager with the ability to foresee problems and be proactive and solutions focused,
managing the workshop team, suppliers and supply chain process from end to end.

Essentially, you will be expected to take ownership of this part of the business and be driven to implement processes and systems that increase efficiency. Also essential to this role is an individual who considers themselves a true leader with the ability to build culture

As part of this role there is also a requirement for administration tasks using software systems such as Asana and WorkflowMax in coordination with the General Manager to provide oversight on all build progression. This role will report to the Company Director.

To be successful for this role, it is essential that you have/are:

  • Able to work closely with the management team to achieve project visions for the client.
  • Strong leadership skills - ability to solve complex management situations that cover both technical and staffing
  • Base knowledge of the wide ranging skills required for the production of high quality container conversions (Electrical, Welding, Fit out)
  • High level proficiency with understanding construction drawings and designs
  • Knowledgeable understanding of online project management software and online communication tools
  • Ability to advance plan resourcing and assign tasks on a daily basis, with weekly and monthly forecasting on capacity that accurately reflects live project requirement and timelines, coordinating and outsourcing to contractors when required to keep projects on track

The responsibilities within this role include:

Operational Tasks

  • Daily check ins with Build Lead to get updates on production progress and based on project requirements in Asana
  • Daily workshop staff briefing and allocation of resources/tasks
  • Daily oversight of OH&S practices on the floor in line with company OH&S Policy
  • Daily quality checks on all work/tasks completed
  • Solving complex and technical issues with creative solutions
  • Attending Project Briefings for all new projects with MD & GM
  • Assist the MD & GM in scoping budgets and timings for new quotes
  • Assist the MD & GM and Production Coordinator in producing accuratecostings/labour reports for projects for clarity on spend and timings
  • Creating repeat processes for more efficient build timings/quality
  • Identifying skill gaps and recruitment of new staff, recommendations for upskillingareas for current staff
  • Conduct regular staff reviews and reports alongside the Build Lead
  • Assist the General Manager with client communication on any technical issues orqueries, suggesting improvements and solutions
  • Final quality assurance sign off on every project
  • Logistics for events and other build deliveries
  • Providing motivation and constructive feedback, maintaining a high level of morale and Wotbox culture and values amongst staff

Strategic Tasks

  • Creating and regularly updating workshop operating processes & documentation forall aspects of the Wotbox workflow
  • Strategic check ins and planning sessions with MD and OM, and actioning/planningfor any strategic outcomes
  • Development alongside Company Director the Vision, Mission and Values for Wotbox

  • Computer literacy is highly advantageous.

Salary negotiable based on experience and skill set. For the right candidate an immediate start will be possible.
