Membership Coordinator

About the business:

The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand Ltd (TSANZ) is the professional peak body representing a range of professions (medical specialists, scientists, researchers, academics, nurses, physiotherapists, students and others) across various disciplines within the respiratory/sleep medicine field in Australia and New Zealand.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to be a champion for members across all aspects of TSANZ operations.

Key areas include:

  • Work with the Finance and Business Development Manager to develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive Member Recruitment, Retention and Engagement Strategy and to deliver member projects
  • Coordinate all aspects of the TSANZ membership services in Australia and New Zealand
  • Ensure all interactions with members are positive, professional and encourage new or continuing membership
  • Answer all membership enquiries and manage member applications and renewals
  • Analyse and keep up-to-date membership statistics/other data and provide regular reports to the CEO
  • Manage all member files and the membership database
  • Assist the Company Secretary to organise the AGM, and other Company Secretary administrative tasks
  • Co-ordinate the writing and production of the monthly e-news and annual newsletter
  • Ensure all issues of concern and complaints are brought to the attention of the CEO
  • Represent the TSANZ at external meetings as directed by the CEO 

Skills and experience:

  • Experience in working in an office environment
  • Must have the ability to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in writing
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • Able to think on feet when dealing with callers
  • Customer service oriented with a "can do" approach to work
  • Microsoft Office expertise
  • A team player who is able to work effectively as part of a small productive team and as a self-motivated individual
  • Superior organisational skills , attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Experience working in a quality assured environment is advantageous.
