This role sits within the Program Planning & Development team who act as the "front door" for Major Works projects at Sydney Trains. The team support project delivery teams to deliver projects on time and on budget through Project management methodology, program planning and project controls.
Right now, we have an exciting Permanent full time opportunity, centrally located in Auburn for a Project Controls Manager to join us at Sydney Trains.
This role will see you provide guidance and support to Project Managers through the analysis of project performance, specifically in relation to financial reporting. You will actively manage and monitor financial governance and risk, completion timelines and work closely with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to capabilities uplift for the team and the Division in the areas of best practice project management methodologies and processes.
What you will be involved in
- Work closely with multiple program and project managers to monitor and maintain program and project financial health against schedules
- Provision of detailed project tracking and analysis against budget and forecast
- Early identification and resolution of issues impacting project delivery
- Provision of support and advice on scope change and variations management
- Assist the maturity of project governance
Along with having a strong background infinancial management and reporting and analysis
, the ideal candidate will have experience implementing process improvements in a project management best practice environment.
As a natural people person, you will have excellent stakeholder management capability with the ability to influence, coach and upskill stakeholders to adopt a best practice approach to project management.
You also will have demonstrated experience in implementing new tools, systems and processes to improve cost control, project and programs performance management and reporting in an infrastructure environment.

Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is RC 6 ($123,844 - $137,322) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
