The Director, Investigations leads the Investigations Division while also playing a key role in the overall leadership and strategic direction of the organisation as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Director, Investigations takes a strategic and proactive approach to regulatory work, leading multiple teams responsible for investigations, decisions and regulatory responses, including prosecutions and litigation. The Director ensures that the Division is outcome-focused and takes a risk-based and holistic approach to all matters, in alignment with the VLSB+C strategy and role as a modern regulator.
Areas of responsibility include lawyer suitability, trust account deficiencies and fidelity fund claims, complaints, unqualified practice, external intervention, and compliance auditing.

The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive executive management experience, exceptional leadership, a creative and curious mindset, experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders on complex multi-dimensional issues and an ability to lead a division to deliver strategic outcomes.
The successful candidate will be admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner with a current Victorian Practising Certificate (or the ability to acquire one) or able to demonstrate thought leadership in best practice regulation coupled with extensive experience in a legal context.
