The Company

 

Exodas is a well established dry and refrigerated transport company that operates Australia wide, although predominately provides transport on the east coast of Australia from Nth Queensland through to Melbourne, with it's head office at Yatala and sub depots at Warnervale, Townsville and Mareeba.  The company currently employs around 180 staff ranging from administration, forklift and yard staff, truck drivers, both local and long haul.

 

The Role

 

We are looking for an experienced Recruitment Officer to join our team who will be responsible for not just hiring and management of personnel files, but some on the job training, toolbox meetings, driver training (heavy vehicles) & return to work co-ordination.  Your tasks would include, but are not limited to:

  • Constant communication with Managers at all Depots to ensure sufficient staffing levels are maintained at all depots.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase and attract the best candidates for each role as required.
  • Keep and file all required records as per the company procedure.
  • Maintain a commitment to 100% compliance at all times.
  • As part of the employment process with truck drivers, assess on-road driving skills, both single trailer and b'double.
  • Conduct refresher training with employees in various roles within the company, and keep records to reflect the same.
  • Assist with all aspects of Work Place Health & Safety, including the management of injuries, Workers Compensation Claims and management of employees Returning to Work.
  • Develop and implement additional initiatives to ensure and or strengthen a safe workplace at all depots.
  • Promote a positive work environment which enhances productivity and efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership and support where required.
  • Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement.

Skills and Experience

 

The successful applicant should possess the following:

  • Experience in a similar position within the transport/logistics sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.  
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in an efficient manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, (Microsoft windows and office).
  • Experience in delivering basic training to a varied number of different roles.
  • Current MC and forklift licence would be an advantage.
  • Driver training experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
