About the position
The Assistant Grants Officer will work within the Research Grants Office to deliver high quality services to researchers across the Institute, who are preparing applications to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) which is a major national research funder.
This position will facilitate the grant application process and support the submission of highly competitive applications that meet all funding body and internal regulations. The role will also provide administrative assistance to the Research Grants Office.
Qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and professional experience
Excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, and the ability to anticipate future requirements
Well-developed problem-solving skills and show of initiatives
Ability to understand and interpret policies and procedures
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as demonstrated customer service skills in liaising with stakeholders at a variety of levels
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining strong attention to detail
A demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Familiarity with NHMRC funding opportunities would be an advantage
Terms of appointment
This position is available for 2 months in a casual capacity with full time hours during the period. Salary is CHEW 5-6 ($48.74-$56.53 per hour).
