For over 35 years we have been a leader in the provision of IT products and services predominantly in the education and aged care sectors. Employing around 90 staff we deliver comprehensive IT & communications infrastructure and end user device hardware, software and services solutions. Our local and offshore services delivery structure incorporates a Service Management Centre, Professional Services and Project Management.
Recently purchased and now a subsidiary of a publicly listed entity we have new compliance and reporting requirements and deadlines.
Reporting to the COO the successful candidate will be the head of our existing finance and administration team of three.
The Company Accountant is the officer of a company that has primary responsibility for managing the company's finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, overhead management, HR, financial reporting and financial compliance.
Manage the budgeting processes
Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
Develop financial and tax strategies
Control and oversee the issuance of all financial information
Personally review and approve all reported financial results to the executive
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Monitor any open legal issues
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
Ensure that the company complies with all legal, tax and regulatory requirements
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
Report risk issues to the executive
Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Represent the company with bankers, accountants, auditors and investors
Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the executive team
Manage the companys accounting, human resources, legal and tax requirements
Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
Assist with implementing operational best practices
Oversee daily operations of the company
Provide monthly overhead analysis
Oversee purchase of all company goods for internal use and for sale
Develop, implement and maintain appropriate stock control measures
Ensure best value is achieved for all purchases
Oversee recruiting and staffing
Employee contract management
Oversee processing of monthly payroll
Employee on boarding, development and off boarding
HR policy development and documentation
Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
Successful candidate requirements:
Successful completion of Accounting degree or diploma Minimum two years experience in a similar role High level of computer literacy including experience with MS Office suite and computerised accounting software packages Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail Numerical skills Analytical and problem solving skills Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to liaise and communicate with all levels of personnel from junior staff to executive
Ability to prioritise tasks and self manage
Experience with MYOB EXO an advantage but not essential.
