Carpentaria Gold Pty Ltd (A subsidiary of Resolute Mining Ltd) operates a gold operation near Ravenswood, 120km south of Townsville and 90km east of Charters Towers. Carpentaria Gold is pleased to offer an experienced, qualified professional, the opportunity to join the on-site Maintenance team in the role of Mobile Heavy Vehicle Fitter.

 

About the role

 

The Mobile Heavy Vehicle Fitter role is to maintain Mobile Equipment in a safe, reliable and efficient state. The role incorporates working as part of a team, performing planned task and breakdown maintenance, diagnosing and repairs regarding all mechanical aspects of equipment in a gold Processing Plant.

 

Responsibilities

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring activities are conducted in compliance with Site Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures and the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act and Regulations, and Australian Standards
  • Assist in the further development of the site safety management systems and participate in JSEA's and investigations as required
  • Maintain good verbal communication with team members and other department areas
  • Proven field skills in diagnosis/problem solving, innovation and documentation
  • Undertaking necessary training to achieve safe & efficient equipment maintenance.
  • Performing maintenance activities on mobile equipment including troubleshooting, sourcing of parts and equipment and undertaking repair activities in a safe and timely manner
  • Maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Completing all necessary documentation correctly and on time
  • Contributing towards any improvements or initiatives relating to productivity or costs
  • Be active in developing and improving personal skill levels with regard to safe and reliable equipment
  • Be willing to assist with training of new personnel in areas you are deemed competent

 

Skills and experience

 

Possession of the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

  • At least 7-10 years of experience with Mobile Equipment
  • Self-managing with strong decision-making skills
  • Experience with Maintenance processes and methodology
  • A strong team approach, including the ability to develop professional working relationships
  • Ability to set priorities to ensure objectives are met, problem solve, multi task and work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Relevant Trade Qualification (Mobile Heavy Vehicle Fitter)
  • Confined Space and Working at Heights
  • High-Risk Tickets will be well regarded
  • Team focused with strong communication and organisational skills

The Process Mobile Heavy Vehicle Fitter position will report to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor. The position offers a competitive salary package that will be negotiated on the basis of qualification and experience. All applicants will be subject to a current Police Check. The position will be offered on a Drive in / Drive out basis. Single person's quarters are provided while on roster.
