Event Co-ordinator

Opportunity to be part of unique NT events, Fixed term contract.

This is a fixed term contract from March 2020 to July 2021. 

The Events Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of a number of events in the NTMEC portfolio. The events this role will have a focus on include Bass in the Grass, Territory Day, Opening and Closing Celebrations for Masters and Arafura Games, concerts and production elements within Supercars and Red CentreNATS.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Contribute to the planning, preparation and delivery of events liaising with key stakeholders, contractors and suppliers.
  2. Provide assistance to Event Managers with planning and execution of events including venue planning, event bump in and bump out.
  3. Take a lead role across a number of functional areas including but not limited to staging and production.
  4. Oversee contracts and agreements ensuring compliance with a focus on relationship management
  1. Support Event Managers by maintaining event logs, databases, communication schedules and other event tracking tools.
  2. Manage activities on event day including set up of event infrastructure, handling customer queries, issue management.
  3. Assist with sport/event safety and critical incident planning.
  4. Prepare post event evaluation and specific reports for senior management.

Selection Criteria:


  1. Sound interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to engage with diverse groups of stakeholders and customer groups.
  2. Demonstrated previous major event or project management skills across a diverse portfolio
  3. The ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
  4. Highly developed ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage workload within the context of overall organisation priorities.
  5. Well-developed IT skills including Microsoft Word, excel and outlook applications
  6. Proven customer service skills including sound oral and written communication skills and experience working with the general public.
  7. Proven ability to manage pressure, maintain flexibility, have a high level of motivation, be an innovative thinker and uphold a high level of confidentiality.
  8. Ability to work outside normal working hours including public holidays and weekends where appropriate.
  9. Capacity to travel intrastate and interstate as required, potentially for significant periods of time.
  10. Current NT Drivers licence


  1. First aid, Ochre and white card qualifications or ability to obtain.
  2. Working knowledge and understanding of the Northern Territory events industry
