Facilities Services Officer

An opportunity has become available to work for a large Queensland Government organization, based in Brisbane CBD for a Facilities Services Officer. This role is an immediate start, for an initial 4-week contract.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Participate, with supervision, in a range of project, business as usual and business improvement activities around Fleet management strategies to contribute to the delivery of tailored solutions for the department.
  • Provide operational information and support to the regions for all Fleet related matters.
  • Compile and formulate reports and submissions to support the delivery of a range of services and support management of departmental leased and owned vehicles.
  • Prepare general correspondence and report and analyse on a variety of data and provide simple analysis of trends and information.
  • Resolve operational problems and assist in the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, processes and systems, and monitor and maintain practices to ensure compliance with legislation, whole of government and departmental requirements.
  • Maintain management and administrative databases, process information and prepare correspondence and associated reports for senior officers in relation to Fleet Management.
  • Receive telephone and email enquiries and respond in a professional and timely manner, providing appropriate advice based on knowledge of motor vehicles.
  • Perform all tasks associated with managing a lease agreement including transfers between client groups, servicing, freight, cost centre maintenance, lease package and vehicle utilisation.
  • Monitor and maintain practices to ensure compliance with legislation, whole of government and departmental requirements.
  • Manage vehicle insurance schedule.

Key Capabilities:

  • Previous and demonstrated experience within QFleet management, particularly within local, state or federal government organisations
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, departmental policies and procedures and industry standards and implement these to support delivery of a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management services for the department.
  • Ability to provide a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management related support services and monitor task progress against performance expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team or work unit, be responsible for your contributions and build and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and organise work within specified timelines and liaise with internal and external clients to establish and maintain mutually productive relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to provide accurate and timely advice to a diverse range of clients.
