Event Development Co-ordinator

OUT MISSION

We lead Territory performance and grow the Territorys events portfolio and industry capability by providing leadership, advice and assurance by being the go-to agency for event organisation and support. 

THE ROLE

This is a 18 month fixed term contract.

As an Event Development Coordinator, you will join a small high-performing team to:

  1. Support the Event Development Manager to manage a funding program that supports events and festival that engage local communities, attracts visitors and showcases the Northern Territory
  2. Assist with event evaluation through individual and collective analysis to inform data led decision making against economic, social and marketing measures
  3. Form strong relationship across the events and festival sector to evolve and improve the calibre of events staged within the Territory
  4. Assist with the coordination of events and projects across NTMEC
  5. Provide administrative support for the team  
  6. Assist with the preparation of briefings and correspondence, including Ministerials, Legislative Assembly Briefings and agreements
  7. Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships with industry and Government at a local and national level

ABOUT YOU

You can manage your time well, have a practical and efficient approach, you are good at prioritising and taking direction.  You collaborate well with others and you have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

You will have:

  1. Good knowledge and an understanding of festivals and events in the Northern Territory  
  2. Project management skills with experience working with multiple stakeholders  
  3. Good understanding of financial management and systems
  4. An ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures
  5. Experience in marketing, communications or a related discipline is preferred

There will be a requirement to work some weekends and public holidays and domestic travel may be required.
