International Freight Logistics Controller

They are looking for a logistics coordinator who will be reporting to the factory manager where the successful candidate will ensure problems are solved efficiently to ensure a high delivery of service

Responsibilities

  • Track PO status and shipping documents with supplier
  • Check off shipping documents and send off to Customs Broker for clearance
  • Liaise with freight forwarder/Customs Broker regarding clearance, biosecurity requirements and delivery of containers
  • Coordinate deliveries and unpacking crew of containers onto site
  • Preparing documents/labels for container to be unpacked
  • Overseeing container unpacks to ensure pallets are correctly stacked and verifying quantity received are correct
  • Booking and attending biosecurity arrangements/inspections
  • Preparing documents for QA to check products
  • Receipting stock into Navision, upload costings (vendor invoice) for associated shipment
  • Review international transportation costs
  • Process claims relating to damages or short shipment from vendors
  • Prepare all documents and loading requirements for export shipments from Australia
  • Track POs and shipping documents where required
  • Back up to local logistics coordinator (invoicing, book trucks and timeslot, despatch pallets, entering sales orders)
  • General office work may be required

Skills required

  • 2 years+ demonstrated experience working within a similar role
  • Practical experience with international sea freight (Import & Forwarding)
  • A good understanding of receivals and dispatch processes
  • Experience with Navision software desirable
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment beneficial but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to continuously improve the processes
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
