About the Role At ARTC, Work Group Leaders are an integral part of our delivery team, and their skills and experience in leading and supervising a multi-skilled work group allows us to deliver a variety of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks across the rail corridor. Your Responsibilities include:
Lead, supervise and manage the performance of a work group.
Promote and encourage a positive work culture within the team.
Advise the Area Manager of issues and assist in the management and improvement.
Ensure mandatory pre-start and pre-work briefings are carried out.
Ensure safety checks are completed and records of inspections maintained.
Ensure mandatory systematic inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks are completed.
Promptly attend to emergencies and irregularities.
Ensure recording and reporting of defective infrastructure in ARTC systems.
Supervise employee and external contractor performance and productivity.
Plan and deliver allocated maintenance works by determining appropriate resource allocation
Ensure maintenance of materials, tools, equipment and vehicles.
Your Key deliverables will be:
Ensure compliance with all mandatory inspection and examination systems and processes.
Certify the integrity of completed projects.
Promote a safety culture within the team to conform with relevant Rail Safety legislation.
Ensure optimal employee and external contractor performance.
Ensuring the operational integrity and efficiency your area of responsibility within the larger rail corridor.
Consider compliance, best practice scheduling to ensure the best utilisation of the teams’ resources.
Knowledge of Rail Safety Management and WH&S principles, and an ability to implement the principles.
About You We are seeking someone with Rail qualifications in safe working and certification in infrastructure inspection, assessment and repair, as well as;
The ability to supervise and motivate a work group for effective performance.
Good leadership capabilities with a mentoring and coaching mindset.
Sound oral and written communication skills.
Well-developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
Proven planning experience and the ability to work in an organised manner.
Current C class drivers' license and solid computer skills.
Willing to participate in a roster that will include periodic night and weekend shifts.
Flexible on hours of work, be able to travel away from home and work on call and overtime as required by ARTC.
