Business Communications Manager

We are currently searching for a talented Business Communications Manager to join our vibrant Sydney based team on a 12mth contract with a view to further extension.

The ideal candidate will drive the development, implementation and administration of all communications and public relations activities undertaken by FDC to ensure alignment with the FDC Marketing Strategy, FDC business objectives, vision and values. The role provides business communications expertise and support across all business units working collaboratively, consistently and to the highest level of service and professionalism.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage, develop and deliver business communications and engagement projects and initiatives.
  • Manage the content development and execution for the FDC intranet.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the FDC Communications Framework.
  • Manage all FDC national partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Develop and prepare a range of communications material and content across print, digital, face to face and virtual channels.
  • Ensure all communications efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and employee engagement.


  • Minimum 8 years experience in a similar position with extensive exposure to internal and external business communications preferably in the property, building or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in internal communications management including exposure to a range of communications channels and the ability to articulate messages in written and verbal form.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, consultation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders through presentations, coaching and workshops to adopt best practice communication approaches.
  • Conceptual and analytical skills and the capacity to develop solutions for a range of internal communications scenarios.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the capacity to manage heavy workloads within tight timeframes.
  • Exposure to a range of relevant communications technology including mobile and communication platforms, content management systems, image libraries, social media and Microsoft programs.
