Based on the Sunshine Coast, Fenn Foods is one of Australias leading plant-based food production companies. Although still only a small business, due to ongoing expansion, an exciting position of Business Development Manager has been created to help lead our team into the next phase of growth. This role is responsible for the profitable management of our customers and distributors, through identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships & maintaining client retention.
The role will involve:
Actively seeking new business opportunities locally, nationally and internationally
Conducting research to identify new markets and client needs
Increasing our national customer base
Implementing structured pricing for all customers
Maintaining strong working relationships with both our distributors and direct customers
Building a culture of continuous improvement
Working closely with all departments yet primarily operating autonomously
Participating in regular staff meetings to update the team on sales growth and development
Some travel to meet with potential and existing customers
As we are still a small business, we require someone who can multi-task across many areas, and still be hands-on when required. This may include admin, preparation of food samples, arranging couriers etc.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for an individual with strong sales, marketing or logistics background, preferably within the food industry, as well as a key understanding in development of customer/volume growth and customer engagement. As we are a fast-paced environment, we require an agile approach to business development and customer acquisition.
We are looking for an experienced business development sales person with exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of delivering success against sales targets and opening new market opportunities.
For this role, strength and leadership skills are imperative; we are seeking someone with the confidence to make decisions and implement necessary changes, yet with the flexibility to work well with, and listen to, our current management team.
