Maintenance Officer (Aboriginal & TSI Identified Position)
A rewarding opportunity currently exists for a Maintenance Officer to join our Yennora facility. You will play a pivotal role consisting of general maintenance duties relating to the accommodation facilities and its grounds. This is a welcoming facility, conveniently located within 400 metres from the train station.
Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and accepted and recognised in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977;
Some of the tasks involved in this role include:
Coordinating and prioritising maintenance works;
Accommodation/building general maintenance and repairs;
Upkeep of grounds and facility;
Organising contractors when required;
Furniture positioning, removal and delivery;
Reporting unserviceable or damaged equipment.
Successful applicants will have:
Trade qualifications are highly desirable, but are not essential;
Previous experience in maintenance support;
Chemical Handling experience and knowledge;
Excellent customer service;
Good communication both written and verbal;
A national police check (dated within the last 6 months).
