Maintenance Officer (Aboriginal & TSI Identified Position)

A rewarding opportunity currently exists for a Maintenance Officer to join our Yennora facility. You will play a pivotal role consisting of general maintenance duties relating to the accommodation facilities and its grounds. This is a welcoming facility, conveniently located within 400 metres from the train station.

Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and accepted and recognised in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977;

Some of the tasks involved in this role include:

  • Coordinating and prioritising maintenance works;
  • Accommodation/building general maintenance and repairs;
  • Upkeep of grounds and facility;
  • Garden maintenance;
  • Organising contractors when required;
  • Furniture positioning, removal and delivery;
  • Reporting unserviceable or damaged equipment.

Successful applicants will have:

  • Trade qualifications are highly desirable, but are not essential;
  • Previous experience in maintenance support;
  • Chemical Handling experience and knowledge;
  • Excellent customer service;
  • Good communication both written and verbal;
  • A national police check (dated within the last 6 months).
