Specialist Mechanical Engineering Technician

Our client is a successful major international business and market leader in the manufacture of mining chemicals and related products.  This company already has footprints in over 42 countries and is now establishing itself in Australia.  

The role:
Based at manufacturing site in Dubbo, country NSW, Australia, you will report to Project Manager and subsequently the Site Plant Manager, Operations. You will be primarily responsible for designing, constructing, supervising and supporting building up of manufacturing facilities. This will include all associated work including implementing all required Australian standards, AEISG codes of best practice, developing documents, enforcing SH&E policies and ensuring compliance to Company’s policies. You will engage with the local business and related stakeholders supporting the project.

The role includes developing reports for regulators and stakeholders on compliance, documents and standards.   This will also include developing deliverable and reporting progress against budgets and schedule outcomes.  You will be reporting back to the group head office and provide the conduit between Australia and India on a regular basis.   Initially, part of a small team, you will have a unique opportunity to become a pivotal key member of this highly successful business in Australia.

You will bring the following experience to the role:

  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience in an Explosive Manufacturing sites for both Bulk and Accessories including Cast Booster with minimum 15 years of experience in explosives plant.
  • Detailed understanding of Australian Standards (AS) for every component.
  • Detailed understanding of AEISG codes.
  • Able to work on Engineering drawings and AUTOCAD according to Australian Standards.
  • Fully Install and Commission the Assembly plant and all equipment in line of flow
  • Responsible for Product manufacturing and Quality control.
  • Able to impart training to the team in terms of manufacturing and QC
  • To ensure Safety as priority during the overall process and lead safety audits and assessments
  • To prepare Operating Procedures and Work Instructions (OP & WI) for every activity
  • Prepare and implement working manual for the entire operations
  • Working knowledge of SAP is essential
  • Cultural diversity and ability to speak and write in Hindi language is an advantage.
