Payroll Manager

We are the BlueFit Group Site Support Office, and our roles are to design, develop and deploy whatever services it takes to support our incredible teams based at our fitness, leisure and education sites across the Country.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will have a dotted line to the Head of People and Culture and work closely across finance, P&C and Operations. 

This role calls for exceptional standards of integrity, attention to detail and confidentiality.

This is a part-time opportunity and we are happy to be flexible on what this means for the right candidate but would require someone who can commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week. 

A typical week will have this role working across a range of activities, some of which will be:

  • Processing and paying a staff of up to 1800 people across casual, permanent and contract employees

  • Interpreting Modern Awards ensuring compliance with legislation across a workforce that has varied shifts and rostering requirements

  • Working with the site Facility Managers and the P&C team to ensure employees are onboarded, cross-boarded and offboarded as required

  • Looking for ways to improve on our systems, processes and ways of working

  • Helping to train and develop our payroll coordinators across all aspects of payroll

  • Managing Workers Compensation claims and payments

  • Supporting the annual remuneration review cycle

  • Reporting on payroll data

  • Responding to general payroll queries

A familiarity with Cloud Payroll (payroll) and Deputy (rostering) systems would be ideal as is ensuring that any new legislative changes that impact on payroll are identified and addressed including tax, superannuation and modern award interpretations.

The successful candidate will also need to have experience/capabilities in system configuration to ensure pay-rates/pay-codes are aligned and integrated across HRIS, Time and Attendance and payroll systems.
