Demand and Availability Planner

About the Role:

We are looking for a Demand and Availability Planner to join us in our head office based in Macquarie Park. You will manage all inventory activities for specific product portfolios, including making appropriate recommendations to optimise inventory, minimise cost and to propose portfolio goals and service objectives.


  • Prepare DSIOP meeting agendas with appropriate supporting information
  • Develop short- and long-term forecasts, ensuring the highest possible forecast accuracy and lowest possible forecast bias.
  • Work with Supply Chain Manager to improve efficiency and effectives of tools and processes
  • Maintain total product inventory in line with agreed objectives
  • Minimise product write-offs including those caused through product expiry and discontinuations.
  • Lead product lifecycle and rationalisation processes for portfolio
  • Provide oversight of inventory deployment and distribution to ensure optimum customer service with available inventory
  • Optimise inventory location planning
  • Analyse inventory and work with divisions, partners and distributors to allocate in order to maximise regional and global service
  • Calculate, propose and maintain safety stock targets for Australia and New Zealand stocks
  • Reporting including Service Level, Backorder and Forecast accuracy reporting for SCM business
  • Manage relationships with key vendors
  • Provide required net planning horizon, budgeting etc
  • Lead product lifecycle vendor process


Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive inventory planning experience with a thorough understanding
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels, internally and externally, and able to lead cross-functional groups to meet business and customer needs
  • Strong organisational and planning skills including the ability to prioritise and organise workflow
  • Extremely self-motivated, independent and resilient
