Assistant Buyer / Purchasing Officer

HBC Trading Australia Pty Ltd is an established manufacturer and distributor of speciality and gourmet foods located in Regents Park and is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Officer.

The Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Managing Director and Purchasing Manager in the sourcing of goods, materials and/or service and obtain quotations and specifications from local and international suppliers.
  • Daily communication with production and operations team to ensure and maintain level of stock on hand.
  • Analysing the stock movement vs stock on hand and report weekly. 
  • Prepare and place purchased orders 

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in purchasing role is preferred
  • Strong problem solving & multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
  • Team player and good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Fluent English written / verbal

Successful Candidates will have: 

  • Australian citizenship or holding permanent residency. 
  • Available to work full-time. 
  • Commitment to WH&S practices and procedures
  • Full conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel
