Roblawmax are currently partnered with a Tier 1 Civil Construction Contractor who are seeking a Commercial Manager for a major D&C project based in North Queensland. This position will be a member of Project Leadership Team to ensure commercial and contractual performance. The role will appeal to those who enjoy the stakeholder management intricacies of Alliance and Joint Venture projects.


In summary you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing a team of Finance/Cost and Contract Administration personnel
  • Managing, tracking, forecasting and monitoring costs and productivity including Earned Value.
  • Prepare cash forecasts and monitor performance, together with analysis of project billings excess/costs in excess;
  • Collate and review financial reports & contract valuations within reporting timelines;
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports for Executive Management team as well as adhoc Corporate Reports as required;
  • Provide support, guidance, and advice to project teams in the preparation of cost reports, contract valuations, cost forecasts and other commercial/financial reports;
  • Working with leadership team with respect to identifying, case building and negotiating successful claims
  • Manage monthly progress measure and reports within leadership meetings
  • Liaise with the key stakeholders and ensure the best outcome for all


To be considered for this Commercial Manager position you will possess:

  • Experience in a Commercial/Contract management roles within major infrastructure environments
  • Extensive major project experience within a Tier 1 or 2 civil contracting environment
  • Experience with various commercial models such as Alliance and Joint Venture
  • Contribution to strategy development, budgeting, forecasting and successful implementation;
  • Financial and numerical acumen to facilitate the interpretation of the P&L and ensure its accuracy
  • Strong contractual awareness with the ability to drive successful claims
  • Sound knowledge of risk management processes and assessment, and risk mitigation
  • Strong communication skills
