TRANSPORT MANAGER

Mad Brothers Earthmoving is a long established, highly successful family business within the Earthmoving and Construction industry.  We are seeking a Transport Manager that will fit into our motivated, professional and passionate team.  This position is quite diverse and will see you heading our Operations and Transport department to ensure the day to day running of the business is operating at its best.  You will be responsible for making sure our drivers are adequately trained and our fleet is working as efficiently as possible.  You will also join our Operations team in liaising with customers and suppliers in relation to job needs and issues.  Every day is different to the next and its a role that will mean getting involved in all aspects of the Operational cycle. 

Responsibilities include

  • Driver management and support
  • Inducting new drivers and providing in-cab training and assessment.
  • Identifying and ensuring training needs are met
  • Manage and maintain all fleet records, including Vic Roads Registrations, Road worthys, Risk Assessments and Mass & Maintenance management.
  • Manage company compliance requirements such as ISO, NHVR, SWMS etc..
  • Oversee, manage and maintain Chain of Responsibility
  • Fleet breakdown co-ordination and support
  • Record and manage truck & equipment breakdowns in conjunction with our Operations staff.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and drivers in relation to job needs and site issues.
  • Record any on-site issues with drivers and customers in line with our QA Management system and assist Sales and Management with the resolution of issues.
  • Accident and incident investigation as required.
  • Conduct tool box meetings with drivers, sales and operations staff
  • Maintain long term supplier and customer relationships
  • Business Development
  • Working closely with our Operations dept to ensure that clients job requirements and orders are met
  • To improve & maintain the Quality Management Systems, including identifying and recommending areas for improvement.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • HC Truck licence
  • Ability to work autonomously and in team environment
  • Motivated with great people skills
  • Capable of managing time efficiently
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Contribution to overall management
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Access
  • Integrity and Confidentiality
