Service Technician

The Company

Vital Living is a leading specialist supplier of mobility, aged care, rehabilitation and independent living products. We provide products and equipment to retail customers, hospitals, aged care facilities, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We are sub-contracted to supply equipment to entitled Veterans in New South Wales and are a registered NDIS Provider. From showrooms in Port Macquarie, Forster and Taree our dedicated team of professional and caring staff service the Mid North Coast region from Bulahdelah to South West Rocks.

The Role

We are offering a full time position covering our Port Macquarie, Taree and Forster stores as a Service Technician. Your primary responsibility will be to service, maintain, diagnose, report and repair customer equipment while delivering outstanding customer service. You will be provided ongoing training to develop your understanding of and familiarity with the products and services Vital Living offer, and you will learn how to ensure the customer is happy and the best solution is found to meet their needs.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Diagnosing, repairing and servicing on a variety of equipment
  • Following service and warehousing procedures whilst maintaining and updating records
  • Coordinating and booking all service jobs
  • Providing excellent customer service in store and on site
  • Delivery and pickup of goods within applicable timeframes
  • Ensuring all company hire assets are maintained and correctly cleaned
  • Liaising with customers, including product setup and demonstration of correct use
  • Assembly of complex wheelchair components
  • Programming of power wheelchairs
  • Maintaining compliance with the company's Quality Assurance Program

To be successful you will need:

  • A current unrestricted drivers licence
  • A thorough understanding of and aptitude for mechanics and electronics
  • A strong commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of all clients
  • Proven experience in a Service Department
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • To be self-motivated and able to work independently and with the team
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • A strong commitment towards following procedures and ensuring safe work practices
  • To be reasonably fit and healthy as some of our products are heavy and bulky
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and undergo training both internal and external

Please note; previous experience in the healthcare industry is not required but would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have training provided as well as ongoing support and development. A police check is also required of the successful applicant prior to employment.
