An exciting opportunity is now available for a Business Manager to join our Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG) Training Services (TS) team at our Randwick offices in Sydney, NSW.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and execution of all DDG Training School requirements, including courses following courseware redevelopment and arrangement of sub-contractors for specialist courses. The Business Manager provides direction to the various instructor groups and ensures that instructors for courses are provided with the necessary resources to deliver the training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing DDG Training Services schedules and budgets
  • Manage and maintain stakeholder engagement
  • Develop and deploy training modules in support of Human Resources processes and initiatives
  • Monitor the effectiveness and performance of capability development initiatives to ensure delivery is within budget and aligned to long term development goals
  • Assists with program implementation, execution and reporting

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Requires a University Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Management or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience in the management of training delivery with a strong understanding of Defence Training Systems.
  • Requires understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritising, coaching and process execution.
  • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value and preparing / presenting Estimates at Completion (EACs) and Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of training systems approach across the training life cycle, including understanding of the Systems Learning approach
  • Experience in information technology management including administration of operating systems and proprietary software
