Financial Controller - Property

This privately owned property investment company are a highly regarded industry specialist in asset management, property development, funds management and builders of retail property in Australia. They are leaders in creating dynamic shopping centres that engage the community in which they are located.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, the Financial Controller is responsible for leading & mentoring the Corporate Services team and work with all parts of the company to ensure a culture of collaboration, strategic thinking, and consistency of service.

Playing a vital role with an emphasis on delivering strategic corporate services and meeting business, divisional and individual objectives across the portfolio, the Financial Controller will monitor and have oversight of operations from commercial and financial perspective working in conjunction with the Executive Team.

This is a broad-ranging role with areas of responsibility including finance, legal, compliance and risk management. The role will work closely with all stakeholders to understand the direction of the Company and areas of importance.

Skills & Experience Required

  • CA/CPA Qualification
  • A track record of senior accounting and financial functions within a corporate organisation, ideally with a Retail or Commercial Property company
  • Proven experience within the management of accounting systems and processes (MRI experience would be advantageous)
  • Background in Property Funds and/or Funds Management
  • High level of organisational ability with a real eye for detail
  • Audit, Taxation and Compliance knowledge
  • Risk management experience including debt and insurance
  • A proven history of team management, team development and mentoring
  • Strong time management and demonstrated prioritisation skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel and BI Solutions beneficial) as well as strong analytics skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Persistent and determined to deliver
  • Collaborative in the delivery of outcomes
