Grounds Person

Penrhos College is a Uniting Church day and boarding school for girls, Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.

Penrhos College seeks a passionate candidate to fill the role of Grounds Person to assist in maintaining the extensive grounds of the College.  The successful candidate must have qualifications in horticulture and turf management, previous experience in a similar role and be a team player with a strong work ethic. 

 

This is a part-time position working Monday to Friday from approximately 6:00 am to 9:50 am, commencing immediately.

 

Duties will include, however are not limited to:

  • Mowing of turf areas
  • Machine operating, tractor and ride on and walk behind mower.
  • Turf renovations and maintenance.
  • Reticulation installation, maintenance and repairs.
  • Weed spraying with handheld.
  • Planting of garden beds, pruning and shaping shrubs, trees and roses.
  • Chainsaw operation and maintenance.

 

The following criteria are essential:

  • Current Western Australian Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current MR or HR drivers license
  • Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Commitment to the Colleges Core Shared values of Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Knowledge, Growth and Synergy.

 

Previous experience in the following is highly desirable:

  • Current Chemical Application license (WA Pest Management Technician Licence)
  • Current Chainsaw Licence
  • Certificate 3 in Horticulture or equivalent
  • Reticulation experience (2 wire systems) or experience in commercial systems
