STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Forum Consulting Engineers is a diverse, well-established engineering consultancy firm with an experienced young team and is seeking a structural engineer with experience in residential design and construction to become part of the growing team and primarily work on projects requiring forensic investigation and report writing among other things.

Forum is heavily involved in the design of a range of residential housing projects including project homes, multi-storey units, multi-unit developments and architecturally designed houses, as well as numerous industrial and commercial projects including warehouses and industrial unit developments. Forum is also involved in various other project works including forensic inspections and reports and offers a great balance between time in the office and out in the field.

To become a valued part of this team you would be required to have:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MIEAust / CPEng desirable but not essential)
  • Sound experience with the design and use of materials utilised in the construction of residential buildings within Australia including concrete, timber and steel.
  • Sound understanding of the use of Australian Standards, Australian Building Codes and Industry Standards
  • Experience in structural design and analysis of industrial buildings would be an advantage but is not necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop effective and innovative solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, experience with writing technical reports would be beneficial
  • An ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Current driver's licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Experience with use of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Auto CAD, (Inducta, Microstran  would be an advantage)
  • A strong team focus
