Research and Development Administrator

The AIS focus is to lead and enable a united high performance system that supports Australian athletes/teams to achieve podium success. The Applied Technology and Innovation (AT&I) Team is made up of a diverse team of high-performance professionals charged with developing a competitive advantage for Australian athletes, coaches and their support personnel. The team is made up of engineers, technicians, software developers, computer scientists, performance psychologists, health professionals and those who coordinate sports science and medicine research with the AIS's partners. The AT&I environment is fast-paced and focussed on delivering value to AIS stakeholders as quickly as possible.

This position reports to the R&D Manager, but supports key areas like the AIS Ethics Committee, AIS funded PhD students, the National Institute Network (NIN) Research Group, the AIS Sports Technology Conference, and the monitoring and reporting of AIS funded projects. Importantly, the role works collaboratively across the team to ensure that the investment in AIS R&D is translated into performance benefit across the national high-performance system. Administrative tasks include: organisation of meetings including teleconferences, taking minutes, monitoring tasks and task completion, basic finance tasks (raising purchase orders, coding invoices etc.), supporting project managers as required, and keeping Microsoft Teams information up to date.

To be successful in the role you will need the following:

  • Exceptional organisation skills and proven ability to multi-task
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability supporting the delivery of projects
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of products including Teams and SharePoint.
  • An understanding of the high-performance sport environment would be an advantage
  • An understanding of Ethics Committees according to NHMRC Guidelines would also be an advantage.

This position is based in Canberra and is available until 20 December 2024.

Salary range = $76,852 - $88,759 per annum + up to 15.4% superannuation.
