Mangan Logging is currently seeking a Field Service Mechanic to join our friendly team. If successful, you will be given the opportunity to become part of a family owned and operated business which employs over 70 people, and has been harvesting, forwarding and hauling sustainable softwood plantations for more than 50 years. Mangan Logging have a reputation for being a leader in the logging and haulage industry in the Central West and take pride in providing secure employment in a safe and supportive organisation.

This position will require the successful applicant to travel to Harvesting sites around the Central West to perform servicing and repairs on Harvester, Forwarders and Skidders as well as attend to any machine breakdowns that may arise. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to utilise and strengthen their skills while developing their knowledge of the Logging industry and become a fundamental member of the Mangan Logging team.

The successful candidates main responsibilities would include:

  • The diagnosis and repairs of any mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on company machines including Harvester, Forwarder and Skidders etc.
  • Conducting regular maintenance and servicing on all machines.
  • Ensuring all paperwork relating to machine servicing and repairs is kept up to date.
  • Inspecting machines and reporting any maintenance issue to the Workshop Administrator or Workshop Manager.
  • Informing the Workshop Manager of any parts or materials that may be required to complete their scheduled repairs and services

Essential Criteria:

  • Have proven experience and qualifications as a Plant Mechanic.
  • Possess strong diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults efficiently
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence with a safe driving record
  • Have a comprehensive tool kit to allow you to work successfully in a field service environment

Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualified and experienced in maintaining air conditioning systems
  • Experience with IQAN Communication systems
  • Light Rigid or Medium Rigid truck licence

This Full-time position with the hours being Monday to Friday from 6am till 5pm with the possibility of additional daily overtime. Overtime will also be required one Saturday per month.

A generous Salary package will be offered, as well as the possibility of acquiring further training and qualifications as necessary.
