About the Role

We are currently seeking a Plant Mechanic/ Fitter to join our team on a full-time basis. We are investing heavily in world class equipment and we are looking to build a team capable of maintaining it to the highest possible standard in order to reduce unplanned down-time and production delays. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a broad range of equipment including crushers, screens, stackers, trommels and more.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional knowledge of how to maintain, diagnose and repair screens, crushers, trommels and stackers.
  • A positive attitude with an emphasis on working as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A willingness to work overtime including Sundays when required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints when necessary.
  • Thorough knowledge of a wide range of production machinery and equipment.
  • Sound understanding of OH&S.
  • Tertiary qualification or trade certificate in a relevant field.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine inspections, diagnostics, repairs and testing on machinery.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on a range of machinery to minimise downtime and meet production schedules.
  • Install new equipment and carry out modifications to existing equipment.
  • Perform risk assessments on tasks.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • General fabrication and welding experience.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing front end loaders, haul trucks and excavators.
  • Ability to make replacement hydraulic hoses when required.
